Tennessee HB0503 amends the state education code to conditionally exempt Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and public charter schools from providing certain tutoring services if the state does not appropriate sufficient funds. Specifically, if the state does not provide enough funds for LEAs or public charter schools to assign a tutor through the Tennessee Accelerated Learning and Literacy Center (TALLC) for the entire school year, these entities are not required to provide the pathways to promotion.
