Tennessee HB0469 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 66, to ensure landlords cannot prohibit tenants or their guests from possessing, carrying, transporting, or storing firearms in homes, apartments, or businesses, as well as in vehicles in landlord-provided parking areas. Existing leases with firearm-related restrictions can remain in effect until July 1, 2026, but must be amended to comply with the new law. Tenants adversely affected by violations can sue for damages and attorney fees. The law takes effect on July 1, 2025.
