This bill amends Tennessee law to extend the voluntary surrender period for an infant from 14 to 45 days. The changes apply to Title 36, Chapter 1, Part 1 and Title 68, Chapter 11, Part 2 of the Tennessee Code Annotated. The extended period allows parents more time to safely surrender their infant at a designated location without facing prosecution. The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
