Tennessee HB0373 amends tattoo artist licensing requirements, including training and experience stipulations.
Tennessee HB0373 modifies the licensing requirements for tattoo artists in Tennessee. To obtain a license, a tattoo artist must complete a year of training in a certified shop under a licensed artist who has been certified and operating in compliance with state laws for at least three years. Out-of-state tattoo artists need to demonstrate at least two years of experience in another state. Tattoo artists who were in business in Tennessee before October 1, 1996, are exempt from these new requirements. The act takes effect on January 1, 2026.
