Complete·5/15/25

Tennessee HB0296 requires health benefit plans to cover habilitative and rehabilitative speech therapy for stuttering without limits.

Tennessee HB0296 amends state law to mandate that health benefit plans covering habilitative or rehabilitative services must also cover speech therapy for stuttering, regardless of whether the stuttering is classified as developmental. The coverage must be provided without any maximum annual benefit limit, without limits based on the cause of the stuttering, and without any utilization review or management requirements. Additionally, the coverage must include both in-person and telehealth speech therapy services. This act takes effect upon becoming law.
