Prohibits construction of correctional facilities, hospitals, or nursing homes in flood plains.
Amends Tennessee Code to prohibit construction of correctional facilities, hospitals, or nursing homes in designated one-hundred-year flood plains. Also prohibits existing facilities in flood plains from being licensed as correctional facilities, hospitals, or nursing homes. Requires all access and functional components of new additions to be built above the flood plain. Applies to construction permit applications submitted after July 1, 2025.
