Tennessee HB0141 amends consumer billing practices for telephone, cable, internet, and broadband services.
Tennessee HB0141 modifies consumer billing rules for telephone, cable, internet, and broadband services. Effective July 1, 2025, if a consumer terminates their service agreement during the first half of a billing cycle, the service provider can only bill for the remainder of that cycle. If the termination occurs in the second half of the billing cycle, the provider can bill for the remainder of that cycle and one subsequent cycle. Violations of these rules are considered unfair or deceptive practices under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act.
