Tennessee HB0134 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, to update student nutrition regulations. Beginning August 1, 2027, local educational agencies and public charter schools must prohibit the sale, offer for sale, or provision of food or beverage items containing Allura Red AC, also known as Red 40, on school property. This prohibition applies to items sold through vending machines or other sources authorized by the school or a third party. The act takes effect upon becoming law.
