HB0008 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 38-8-111, to add a new subsection providing cash salary supplements to campus police officers and public safety officers who successfully complete the annual in-service training. This supplement is to be provided in the same manner and under the same conditions as set forth for police officers. Additionally, campus police officers and public safety officers who served, or serve, on active duty in the armed forces of the United States during a period of armed conflict prescribed by presidential proclamation or federal law must receive the cash.
