Proposing an amendment to the South Dakota Constitution to limit legislative terms.

This bill proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, limiting the number of terms an individual may serve as a member of the Legislature. The amendment restricts an individual to no more than four consecutive terms or a total of eight consecutive years in the Senate or House of Representatives. This restriction does not apply to partial terms appointed under Article IV, § 3. The amendment will be submitted to voters at the next general election.
