Appropriates $2.5 million for grants to South Dakota's sparse school districts for facility improvements and educational materials.

The bill allocates $2.5 million from the general fund to the Department of Education for grants to sparse school districts. These grants must be used for facility improvements or to purchase educational technology and instructional materials. The Department of Education will distribute the grants directly to each eligible sparse school district. Any unexpended funds by June 30, 2027, will revert to the general fund. The bill becomes effective June 30, 2026.
