Allocates $100,000 to study length of service award programs for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical services personnel.

The bill allocates $100,000 from the general fund to the Legislative Research Council to hire a contractor for a study on state and federal laws, regulations, and services related to length of service award programs for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical services personnel. The contractor must present recommendations to the Executive Board of the Legislative Research Council by November 30, 2026. The study aims to explore the implementation of an Internal Revenue Code Section 457(e) length of service award program. The act becomes effective June 30, 2026.
