SB188 revises public notice requirements for new sand, gravel, and construction aggregate mines in South Dakota.

SB188 amends the notice requirements for new sand, gravel, and construction aggregate mines in South Dakota. Operators must publish notice in a local newspaper three times if the operation affects more than ten acres or extracts at least twenty-five thousand tons annually. The first notice must be published 180 days before commencement, the second 90 days before, and the third 30 days before. For operations affecting ten acres or less, or extracting less than twenty-five thousand tons, notice must be published once 14 days before commencement.
