Revises transportation provision for inmates upon discharge from a correctional facility in South Dakota.
The bill amends South Dakota law to ensure that upon discharge of an inmate from a correctional facility, whether by parole, suspended sentence, or final discharge, a correctional facility official must provide the inmate with suitable clothing, a sum of money, and transportation to a chosen location. The chosen location can be the county where the inmate resided at the time of the offense, the county where the inmate received sentence, or a location equivalent in distance to either of these two.
