Authorizes the recall of certain elected officials or appointed individuals in South Dakota.

South Dakota HB1315 establishes a process for the recall of elected officials or appointed individuals who fill vacancies in certain offices. A petition signed by at least 15% of registered voters in the jurisdiction must be filed to initiate the recall process. The petition must be filed within five business days of being presented. If the petition meets the requirements, a special election is held within 60 days to determine whether the official should be removed. The official may run for re-election in this special election.
