Prohibits the public dissemination of location information about public officers and their families without consent.

South Dakota HB1305 prohibits the public dissemination of the employment, home, or school addresses or locations of current or former public officers and their family or household members without the officer's consent. The dissemination must also be with the intent to harass, intimidate, or threaten the officer or their family. Violators face criminal penalties, including a Class 6 felony, and civil penalties, including punitive, special, and general damages, emotional distress damages, and reasonable attorney fees and costs.
