Exempts nonresident active-duty military personnel and their dependents from motor vehicle license fees in South Dakota.

South Dakota HB1283 allows nonresident active-duty military personnel and their dependents to apply for an exemption from motor vehicle license fees for one noncommercial vehicle. To qualify, the applicant must provide military orders or other documentation showing their active-duty status in South Dakota. The exemption can be renewed annually but does not cover specialty plates or the excise tax on vehicle purchases.
