Amends the salary calculation for South Dakota legislators to be based on the state's median household income.

South Dakota HB1177 amends the method for calculating the salaries of members of the Legislature. Instead of the previous calculation, the bill sets the salary at one-fifth of twenty-two percent of the South Dakota median household income for the most recent year, adjusted annually by the State Board of Finance. This change takes effect on the first day of January each year for every regular legislative session.
