South Dakota HB1059 raises the minimum liability insurance coverage amounts for motor vehicles. The new minimums are fifty thousand dollars for bodily injury or death of one person per accident, one hundred thousand dollars for bodily injury or death of two or more persons per accident, and fifty thousand dollars for property damage per accident. These changes apply to policies issued after January 1, 1987.
