The bill establishes the Indian Medicaid Managed Care Model taskforce to study the creation of Indian Medicaid managed care entities in South Dakota. The taskforce includes representatives from various state departments, tribal councils, the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, healthcare providers, insurance providers, and healthcare administrators. The taskforce will seek input from relevant stakeholders and report findings and recommendations to the Governor by December 1, 2028. The act becomes effective January 1, 2027.
