Changes the 2026 primary election date to August and modifies filing times.

This bill changes the primary date for the 2026 general election in South Carolina to the second Tuesday in August. It also modifies the filing period for the political party primary, opening it at noon on the third Friday in June and closing it five days later at noon. All candidates who have already filed for the 2026 primary must refile to participate in the August primaries. The changes take effect upon approval by the Governor.
