S.1048

Blue Ridge Community

Chamber Passed·4/1/26

Requires new single-family homes and multi-family dwellings in the Blue Ridge Community to be built on tracts of at least five acres each.

This bill mandates that new single-family homes in the Blue Ridge Community must be constructed on a minimum of five acres of land. For multi-family dwellings, each dwelling unit must be built on a separate tract of at least five acres. An exception is made for land conveyed, bequeathed, or devised from a family member if the tract is less than five acres and the owner intends to use it for personal or immediate family enjoyment. This act becomes effective upon the Governor's approval.
