South Carolina S1036 allows renters to agree that their auto insurance pays first in case of an accident.

South Carolina S1036 amends the state code to let renters of vehicles agree that their auto insurance pays up to its limits before the rental company's coverage kicks in. This change applies to accidents involving rental vehicles and is subject to the terms of the rental agreement. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
