S.1001

Retail Alcoholic Beverage Caterer License

Chamber Passed·5/6/26

Establishes a retail alcoholic beverage caterer license for businesses serving alcohol at off-site events.

The bill creates a retail alcoholic beverage caterer license for businesses that serve alcohol at off-site events. License holders can purchase and serve beer, wine, and liquor for on-premises consumption at events. The Department of Revenue can issue these licenses, which require a $300 nonrefundable application fee and $2,300 biennial fee. Licensees must maintain liquor liability insurance and notify law enforcement 24 hours before serving alcohol. The bill also allows wholesalers and retail liquor stores to offer refunds or credits for unused alcohol to caterers.
