South Carolina S0983 amends the South Carolina Code to add Section 30-2-60, which requires eviction filings and records that include personal information of a defendant to be removed from the public index and any publicly accessible files after five years if no additional filings are recorded. This applies to cases concluded by Orders of Eviction, Writ of Ejectment, settlement, or otherwise resolved. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
