South Carolina S0779 provides a monthly legislative expense allowance of $1,000 for each member of the General Assembly for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. Members who vacate their seats during this period are entitled to the allowance only for the months they served. Members elected in special elections to fill vacancies are also eligible for the allowance. However, members convicted of a felony before the act's effective date are not entitled to the allowance. The allowance is retroactive to July 1, 2025, and the act is repealed on July 1, 2026.
