The bill amends the South Carolina Code to allow for the forfeiture of retirement and health benefits for state employees convicted of crimes involving criminal sexual misconduct with a minor or possession or distribution of child sexual abuse materials. If a state employee is convicted, they forfeit their retirement and health benefits attributable to their state employment. The retirement system must refund the employee's contributions attributable to their service. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
