Modular homes used as display models can be placed for first residential use in South Carolina if certain conditions are met.
The bill amends South Carolina law to allow the placement of single-family modular homes used as display models for first residential use. The home must bear a valid modular home label, meet wind and seismic requirements, remain unaltered from its original design, and be manufactured within five years before placement. The seller must also provide written notice to the purchaser that the home meets the code requirements in effect at the time of manufacture. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
