Establishes the South Carolina Pray Safe Grant Program to fund security enhancements for organizations at risk of religiously motivated crimes.
The South Carolina Pray Safe Act creates the South Carolina Pray Safe Grant Program within the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). This program provides grants to eligible applicants for security enhancements to eligible facilities. Grants may be awarded up to $750,000. SLED will rank applications based on risk levels, previous incidents, and existing security measures. The fund for these grants is separate from the general fund and can only be used for the authorized grants.
