The South Carolina Pray Safe Act establishes a grant program within the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to provide grants for security enhancements to certain organizations at risk of being victims of a religiously motivated crime. Eligible applicants must be private organizations qualified for federal tax-exempt status and at particular risk of such crimes. SLED will establish criteria for ranking grant applications, including risk level and previous incidents.
