Introduced Text

Amends the Nurse Practice Act to define Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and restrict their abbreviation use.

This bill amends the South Carolina Code of Laws to redefine the term "Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist" or "CRNA" in the Nurse Practice Act. It specifies that a CRNA must hold a master's degree from an accredited program, be certified by a board-approved national organization, and demonstrate advanced knowledge in anesthesia services. The bill also mandates that CRNAs practice under approved guidelines supervised by a licensed physician or dentist.
