Introduced Text

Removes supervision requirements for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and grants prescriptive authority.

This bill amends South Carolina law to remove supervision requirements for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and grants them prescriptive authority. CRNAs must practice according to approved written guidelines, which must be reviewed annually and made available to the board upon request. The board can terminate prescriptive authority for reasons such as failure to maintain certification or violating laws. CRNAs must notify the board of changes in practice settings or discontinuation of practice within fifteen business days.
