This resolution welcomes the National Commander of the American Legion, James A. LaCoursiere, and invites him to address the South Carolina General Assembly in a joint session. LaCoursiere, an Air Force veteran and longtime field representative for the American Legion Department of Connecticut's Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines Fund, was elected National Commander on August 29, 2024. As national commander, he is committed to raising awareness for the American Legion's mission to prevent veteran suicide.
