Amends South Carolina election law to eliminate the requirement for public hearings on nonjudicial candidates.

The bill amends South Carolina election law by removing the requirement for public hearings on nonjudicial candidates. It mandates that the chairman of the joint committee schedules a public hearing no later than two weeks before the election date. Candidates and others must submit written statements of their proposed testimony. The bill also stipulates that candidates may not obtain pledges or commitments until noon on the twelfth day after the names of the nominees have been released. This change applies to elections taking place after July 1, 2025.
