SHORT_SUMMARTY: Amends penalty for wilful destruction of evidence to include fines and imprisonment.

Amends Section 17-28-350 of the South Carolina Code to enhance penalties for wilful and malicious destruction of evidence or biological material. A person found guilty of such actions faces fines and imprisonment. If a death results from a drug overdose, the penalty increases to a fine of up to five thousand dollars or imprisonment for up to one year, or both, for each subsequent violation. The amendment does not affect pending actions, rights, duties, or liabilities founded on the repealed or amended law.
