Dr. Randolph, a civil rights leader and former president of Columbia's NAACP chapter, was also a practicing optometrist who served individuals in the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and founded a free eye care clinic for schoolchildren. He received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest civilian honor, in 2011.
