Free School Meals bill mandates free breakfast and lunch for all students in participating schools.

The Free School Meals bill requires schools participating in the school breakfast program to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students. Eligible schools will receive additional funding to support their meal operations. Schools are encouraged to maximize student participation in free meals and may use federal eligibility percentages for other programs. The Department of Education will reimburse schools for the difference between federal reimbursement rates for free and paid meals.
