This bill amends the South Carolina Code to add qualifications for individuals eligible to serve as county auditors. To qualify, a person must be a U.S. and South Carolina citizen, a qualified elector of the applicable county, and possess a four-year bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics from an accredited institution. Additionally, they must have at least four years of experience in accounting, auditing, or working in an auditor's office or as an auditor in South Carolina. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
