Establishes qualifications for county clerk of court of common pleas in South Carolina.
This bill amends the South Carolina Code to add a new section specifying qualifications for individuals eligible to serve as county clerk of court of common pleas. To qualify, a person must be a U.S. and South Carolina citizen, a qualified elector of the applicable county, and have either a four-year bachelor's degree or at least four years' experience in law, criminal justice, business administration, or as a clerk of court in South Carolina. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
