Amends magistrate appointment rules in South Carolina, including holdover status, temporary appointments, and reprimands.

This bill amends the South Carolina Code to change rules for magistrate appointments. It allows magistrates to serve in a holdover capacity for up to fourteen days after their term ends. The Governor can make temporary appointments if the Senate fails to confirm a permanent one. It also prohibits appointing or reappointing magistrates who have been reprimanded by the Supreme Court or another disciplinary authority unless approved by a Senate majority. The bill takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
