South Carolina S0087 mandates public hand-count audits of election results before certification.

South Carolina S0087 amends the state code to require the State Election Commission to conduct public hand-count audits of election results. These audits must occur after an election but before certification by the State Board of Canvassers. The executive director of the commission has discretion to perform these audits following any election. Once completed, the audit reports must be published on the commission's website. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
