This bill amends the South Carolina Code to add a new section establishing enhanced penalties for crimes committed against educational professionals while they are performing their official duties. The new law defines "educational professional" as a licensed teacher, principal, administrator, or other educational provider working on school grounds. If convicted of a crime under Section 16-3-600, the offender faces an additional prison term of up to five years.
