Native American

Introduced·1/14/25
Introduced Text

Native American artists can sell traditional crafts using wild turkey feathers; Catawba Native Americans can obtain free hunting and fishing licenses.

This bill amends South Carolina's hunting and fishing license laws to allow Native American artists to sell traditional crafts using wild turkey feathers, provided they have a tribal identification card. It also allows members of the Catawba Indian Tribe to obtain free hunting and fishing licenses. These licenses include statewide hunting and fishing privileges. The Catawba Indian Tribe can develop an affidavit for use by all Native American artists seeking tribal identification cards. The South Carolina Commission on Minority Affairs may also develop a form affidavit for this purpose.
