Exempts mopeds from habitual offender penalties if the driver has a valid moped license.
This bill amends South Carolina law to provide an exception for driving a moped for a person declared an habitual offender. If the habitual offender is driving a moped and holds a valid moped operator's license, they will not face habitual offender penalties. The bill removes the requirement for the Department of Motor Vehicles to notify the Attorney General or the appropriate solicitor of violations of this section. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
