Paid parental leave eligibility extended to state employees for birth or foster care of a child.
This bill amends the South Carolina Code to redefine "eligible state employee" for paid parental leave purposes. It includes employees working any percentage of a full-time equivalent position, on a prorated basis. The leave applies to the birth of a biological child or fostering a child in state custody. Eligible state employees can take six weeks of paid leave at full pay or two weeks at full pay. The change takes effect upon the Governor's approval.
