Prohibits South Carolina state agencies and local governments from acquiring election systems or services from foreign adversaries.
This bill amends South Carolina law to prohibit state agencies and local governments from purchasing, leasing, licensing, or acquiring election systems, equipment, or services from companies owned or controlled by foreign adversaries. The State Election Commission can void contracts and impose penalties on vendors providing false certifications. Equipment or services in use or under contract as of the effective date can continue until the earlier of contract expiration or July 1, 2029.
