Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact

Introduced·3/4/26

Establishes the Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact to facilitate teacher licensure across states.

The Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact aims to streamline teacher licensure across states, supporting teacher mobility and retention. It establishes an Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact Commission to oversee the compact, with powers to promulgate rules and resolve disputes. Member states must recognize unencumbered licenses from other member states and provide equivalent licenses to active military members and eligible spouses. The compact also facilitates the exchange of licensure, investigative, and disciplinary information between states.
