Introduced·2/11/26
Introduced Text

Allows the Department to offer virtual continuing education courses for county auditors and treasurers in South Carolina.

The bill amends South Carolina law to allow the Department to offer virtual continuing education courses for county auditors and treasurers. County auditors must complete at least eighteen hours of continuing education annually, with failure to do so resulting in a loss of one thousand dollars from their state salary supplement. The Department can excuse auditors from attending these courses for reasonable cause. Similarly, county treasurers must also complete at least eighteen hours of continuing education annually, with the same penalty for non-compliance and the same excuse provision.
