Establishes statewide requirements for student transitions into and out of alternative school programs in South Carolina.

The bill mandates that each school district in South Carolina develop a written policy for student transitions into and out of alternative school programs. This policy must detail entry procedures, the creation of Individual Transition Plans, progress monitoring, reentry criteria, and reentry transition meetings. The Individual Transition Plan must include academic, behavioral, and attendance goals, support services, and benchmarks for reentry. Progress must be reviewed every twenty instructional days, with written notices sent to parents or guardians.
