The Eliminate Criminal Profiteering Act prohibits individuals who have engaged in wrongful conduct from bringing actions or collecting damages for negligent security claims. This applies to those who have committed a felony, misdemeanor, intentional tort, or other wrongful conduct. The act also bars unauthorized aliens from collecting damages in negligence claims. Owners or occupiers of property are not liable for negligent security unless they have knowledge of prior similar incidents within the past year. The act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
